Proposal for the realization of the VIP lounge of the art fair Arco 2014.

The project presented here is dedicated to the routine or mundane element,

Propuesta para la realización de la sala VIP de la feria de arte Arco 2014.

El proyecto que aquí se presenta se esta dedicado a ese elemento rutinario o mundano,

que nos pueden parecer las cajas de plástico que solemos ver tiradas entre

los contenedores cercanos a nuestra frutería local. Se suele utilizar para transportar

fruta o verdura desde el campo al mercado y desde ahí hasta las tiendas. Su diseño

estructural no solo las hace resistentes al peso que han de alojar, pero les da unas

propiedades portantes que hacen que sean fácilmente apilables has alturas considerables.

Su estructura plástica de polietileno de alta densidad o de polipropileno

crea una celosía de piezas estudiadas para ofrecernos la máxima solidez utilizando

el menor material posible para así tener menos peso y coste, pero que nos ofrece

un mundo de sombras , opacidades, texturas, y colores que pocos materiales

nos ofrecen. En este caso se opta por utilizar 3000 cajas de 600x400x220mm para

formar una serie de elementos verticales que sirven para dividir el espacio en sus

distintas necesidades programáticas. Para ello se recurre a dos tipos de elementos

formados por cajas; Apoyados y colgados. Los apoyados serian creados utilizando

cajas de color negro en las zonas perimetrales y divisorias, salvo en el caso del restaurante,

donde el color de las divisiones será en blanco. que se colocarían frente a

los paramentos existentes que delimitan la sala. Los colgantes son utilizados como

luminarias para los distintos espacios, siendo estas de dos tipos: La primera se trata

de una serie de “muros colgantes” de las cerchas principales, formados por cajas de

los distintos colores que se ofrecen (Rojo, Amarillo, Azul, Verde). Las segundas las

encontraremos en la zona de restaurante donde solo serán de color blanco.
